This phase further expanded the Network by allowing anyone in an approved area who downloads the Spexi app from the Google Play store to begin flying, capturing imagery, and earning rewards. Following deep engagement with experts in crypto, economics, regulatory, and the aerial data market, in Q2 2025, Spexi spun out LayerDrone, an open network protocol stewarded by the LayerDrone Foundation.
